Obi is the Head of Commercialization and Market Solutions at Afrexim Bank. In this role, Obi is responsible for charting the route to commercial sustainability for the Bank’s digital initiatives in Cross-border payments, KYC, Marketplaces and Trade Financing as Afreximbank establishes a digital ecosystem to support pan-African trade.

Obi has 20+ years of experience in technology-driven business development and transformation, the last 9 years of which have been focused on the rapidly evolving African entrepreneurial space. Prior to joining Afreximbank, he was Chief Innovation Officer at Asoko Insight – the leading provider of corporate data on privately-held companies in Africa and before that, he was Managing Director at Jumia Home – the online real estate venture in the Jumia group. Obi has also led digital transformation at Thomson Reuters, Philips Electronics and Vodafone.

Obi has an Executive MBA from the London Business School and a B.Engr in Electronics Engineering from the University of Nigeria.
