David is an experienced executive specializing in operational efficiency and driving digital transformation initiatives within financial services and the emerging cryptocurrency sectors. With over 20 years in corporate leadership, David, has developed a track record of designing, building and managing complex operational functions and commercial relationships across international organizations.

David’s professional history began with a foundation in management consulting, where he developed rigorous analytical and strategic problem-solving skills critical for optimizing business functions and processes. He applied this expertise in key roles across the financial sector, including positions at Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) and subsequently as a General Manager at Thomson Reuters in their Finance and Risk Division. His time at these organizations established a deep understanding of the operational structures, regulatory demands, and commercial complexities required for success in large, global financial and data enterprises.

David currently serves as a Director and Key Individual at South Africa’s second oldest Crypto Exchange, AltCoinTrader. His primary focus is on ensuring regulatory compliance, developing business strategy, and establishing a basis for sustainable growth within the crypto industry. Additionally, David founded the Crypto Asset Association of South Africa (CAASA) in 2023, a voluntary industry association representing nearly 50 Crypto Asset Services Providers (CASPs). He served as Chairperson of the association until early 2025 before handing over the reins. This hands-on background underscores his ability to adapt strategic planning and implementation in rapidly shifting, regulated environments.

David’s leadership is supported by a solid academic background, including a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Reading and an Honours degree in Business Science from the University of Cape Town This foundation in both business strategy, economics and finance is crucial to his role in managing change in the nascent Crypto industry.
