Francis Ogbuka is the Head of Africa at Utila, an enterprise-grade digital assets infrastructure platform. In this capacity, he leads the company’s market entry and growth strategy across the continent, empowering institutional clients, fintechs, and
banks to securely manage digital assets and stablecoin operations. A seasoned digital assets and payments executive with over 14 years of experience, Francis is a recognized authority in Africa’s fintech and digital banking landscape.
Prior to joining Utila, he served as the Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Zone, where he was instrumental in building Africa’s first regulated blockchain network for payments. His leadership was pivotal in driving the commercial strategy that transitioned the company into a decentralized payment infrastructure provider, fostering key relationships with commercial banks, fintechs and PSPs. Beyond the private sector, Francis contributes to national policy development as a member of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Industry Working Group on Cross- Border Payments & CBDC Integration for the Payment System Vision (PSV) 2028.
