Mercy Emmanuel

Stablecoin & Blockchain Commercial Leader | Fintech Growth Strategist at Flutterwave

Mercy Emmanuel is a fintech and blockchain leader with over eight years of experience driving the growth and commercialization of payments, stablecoins and cross-border financial solutions across Africa and global markets. Her expertise spans commercial strategy, go-to-market execution, strategic partnerships, market expansion, product commercialization and operational leadership.

She currently serves as Stablecoin & Blockchain Vertical Lead at Flutterwave, where she sets the commercial direction for the company’s stablecoin and blockchain business. She leads the vertical’s go-to-market strategy, strategic partnerships, revenue growth and adoption across enterprise and consumer segments.

Her work includes identifying high-value use cases, shaping product and market priorities, structuring commercial opportunities, and coordinating across product, engineering, compliance, legal and operations teams to bring solutions to market. She plays a central role in translating emerging blockchain technology into practical, compliant solutions that address real payment, settlement and liquidity challenges for African businesses. She also manages relationships with leading stablecoin issuers, blockchain networks, liquidity providers and infrastructure partners, helping position Flutterwave at the forefront of blockchain-enabled payments in Africa and other emerging markets.

Before Flutterwave, Mercy served as Country Manager for Nigeria and Regional Head for Sub-Saharan Africa at Sentz Global, a global payments platform built on the MobileCoin blockchain. She led regional growth, market entry, partnerships, operations and customer experience, helping to scale cross-border payment activity and adoption across multiple African markets.

Her career also includes leadership roles at Binance, where she drove growth and operations across African markets, and Xend Finance, where she supported the expansion of decentralized finance products. Through these roles, she has developed a deep understanding of African consumer behaviour, regulatory environments, liquidity structures and the commercial and operational realities of scaling financial products in emerging markets.

Mercy is passionate about using stablecoins and blockchain infrastructure to improve cross-border commerce, expand access to global financial systems, and create faster and more affordable ways for businesses and individuals to move and manage money. Her leadership approach combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, enabling her to take opportunities from initial concept and partnership development through launch, adoption and commercial scale.

Beyond technology and finance, Mercy is an active contributor to Nigeria’s creative sector. She is a theatre producer, performer, show organiser and creative director, bringing the same commercial discipline, creative vision and commitment to execution to her work in the arts.
