Sean is a leading figure in South Africa’s fintech and tokenisation ecosystem, driving innovation at the intersection of finance, regulation, and blockchain technology.

  • Chairman of The Fintech Association of South Africa (FINASA) Tokenisation Forum, where he leads a collaborative initiative of industry professionals focused on advancing the adoption of tokenised assets within the financial sector.

  • Co-founder and CEO of RainFin, a pioneer in debt and asset tokenisation, where he issued South Africa’s first R100 million in tokenised assets on xcap.network and developed the country’s first legal framework to issue tokenised assets on-chain.

  • Co-founder of X-Cap, a platform protocol enabling the creation of tokens backed by real-world assets.

  • Chairman of Titan Investments 7, an early-stage fintech investment firm.

As Chairperson of the Tokenisation Forum, Sean works closely with the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and other regulators to align sandbox initiatives with the SARB Digital Payment Roadmap. He also facilitates strategic planning and weekly forum sessions under Chatham House Rules, driving the development of recommendations on tokenisation use cases, legal frameworks, and technical infrastructure.

Sean plays a key role in uniting regulators, financial institutions, and innovators to explore applications such as tokenised money market funds and bank deposits, while addressing regulatory and technical challenges. He also oversees the preparation of reports and proposals to regulatory bodies, with a major submission scheduled for June 2025.
