Simon Marland is the Managing Executive: RCB, Business Intelligence, RPA & Web3. He heads up the CIA (Commercialisation, Insights & Analytics) within Retail & Commercial Banking. CIA is partially responsible for idea generation, design and implementation of new tools and applications. The business unit provides data analytics & insights.
CIA is partially responsible for idea generation, design and implementation of new tools and applications. The business unit provides data analytics & insights. Some focus areas include Blockchain, Digital product/channel, data driven intelligence and marketing campaigns, commercialisation of data, data warehousing, data governance, costing & robotic process automation. The teams within CIA comprise of approximately 350+ people with a vast array of channel, product, data, technical, analytical & financial skills and competencies. Simon is British but has worked in the South African banking sector for 20 years and in manufacturing for 10 years. In this time, he has been exposed to procurement, cost management, inventory, finance, AI, cyber, data breach management and many other domains. He is able to inject a high degree of energy into a discussion and has a unique manner in which he delivers his message. Simon is a keen mountain biker, family man and enjoys a great glass of South African wine.
