Dr Wiehann Olivier is Global Co-Head of Digital Assets at Forvis Mazars and a Professor within North West University’s Applied Research in Management Cybernetics research entity. In his global leadership role, he leads strategic initiatives and technical thought leadership in digital assets across more than 100 jurisdictions.

Dr Olivier provides assurance and advisory services to venture capital and private equity funds, digital asset exchanges, stablecoin issuers, payment facilitators, custodians, banks, and alternative asset funds internationally.

He is a Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor, and holds a PhD focused on assurance engagements for blockchain-based digital assets. He is the author of “Auditing Bitcoin” and is regularly featured across local and international media as a commentator on FinTech, blockchain, and digital asset assurance.
